October 2011
Hey,
Looks like a cool area! I really would like to go this autumn in October.
I am a experienced trad climber, I got gear and I am looking for a patner. 我也会说中文。
Hope to hear from you!
I'll be in SE Asia from Feb12 2012 to April 20 2012. I hadn't planned on bring a trad rack as I was going to climb sport in Thailand but after seeing this I am going to bring my rack and hopefully make it up there the 2nd half of my trip. Hopefully see someone up there. What will the weather be like in mid March to mid April?
Stoked!
Hi That's grate to hear. I'm not shore who will be there as I have to work in Yangshuo at that time but the weather should be good. Morning and night can be cold and climbs routes which are out of the sun also; so bring a down jacket. Bring any snakes you like to eat as food is a bit limited in Liming. You can use the contact from above to email me directly or register on the site then you can get more information in the forum :-). We have over 100 routes now so Mike the guide book write my also be able to send you a bata version of the new guide book. Good luck and hope to meet you on your trip in China.
Did you ever go to Liming in the end? I have some friends going there in the next few weeks and I'm planning on joining them some time in Dicember. Also do you live in China? Its always good to find other people who like to climb trad who live here.
Hey Folks
I will be around this area (well Lijiang anyway) for the last ten days in Feb 2012 and would love to climb if it is not too cold. Anyone around? I am yet to decide if I will bring my full trad rack as pictures of Geordie waving a big cam might make my bags a bit heavy. Eben - I emailed you earlier today. Great site, I see your spelling hasn't imporved.....
A trad rack is a lot to carry around but I really recommend bringing one if you want to climb here. All the routes are trad, however if you want to save wait you could leave all nuts and hexes behind and bring cams from very small to BD size 4. Other people here will have big cams if you need them and wires are not needed for most of the routes.
